BALALA IS RIGHT!

The last time I checked, ministerial, PS’s, ambassadorial, etc were political appointments. These appointments are based on loyalty and prospects. This is a fact that Balala knows much too well and should therefore refrain from making ridiculous statements that would somewhat portray him as immature at best. If anything he was appointed a minister not based on merit but by virtue of being a member of the ODM’s pentagon. What should you get for openly being cozy with an opponent, when confronted, you make a come back, a few months later you announce, publicly, your intentions to defect? How many ordinary wananchi have been sacked by their employers for whatever reasons? Are your employers dictators? Did they betray you? Balala should simply get over that and give us a break. If am not wrong, insubordination amounts to summary dismissal.

I have not been analyzing politics for decades but I have long enough to realize that it is full of double speak and hypocrisy.

Najib Balala is right that he was betrayed and very wrong that the ‘firer’ is a dictator. Balala was betrayed by his G7 allies whom he worshipped so much and ‘forgot’ who give him the job. He was betrayed by the same people who desperately persuade anyone and anything to join their camp whose manifesto has only one agenda: block Raila Odinga from ascending to the presidency. We can all agree that Raila is the biggest problem facing wananchi. Ask the IDP’s whom they will want be president and they will unanimously answer “Resettle us!” that is their number one priority. Our economy is bleeding with an increasing inflation rate, the PEV victims still demand justice, we have ICC witnesses’ protection posing a challenge due to lack of political will. I mean we have a lot on our plate. Does Kibaki even mention these in is ‘amazing’ speeches?

As Barrack Muluka says, “the contradictions of politics can be breathtaking. There is no objective goodness or badness. It all depends on who is involved.” The PM is the face of reforms, in spite of his own weaknesses. He must therefore be stopped, at all costs. Najib Balala has been showing the public and his boss to be part of this agenda. Raila had to do something. The very thing you would have done if you were in his shoes.

I was surprised to listen to the Council of Imams insinuating that, Raila was targeting their religion. That is petty. How many Hindus are in government, for example? What would happen if all religions demanded a share of the government? We also heard a sad statement from Nguyai, who lamented; President Kibaki should have appointed the finance minister from Kiambu and apparently not from Kirinyaga. What was his point really? Kenyans should get rid of such ‘leaders.’ As we stand now, the appointments are based on loyalties and that be respected. In future, (2013) they will be based on merit and never on religion, tribe, gender, height, colour, region, or whatever.

Balala has himself to blame for the dismissal after he repeatedly demonstrated that his political interests we outside the party.
